Introduction

Accessing Experts in EveryAnswer is designed to be intuitive and user-friendly, allowing you to quickly engage with Experts to get the answers you need. This guide will detail how you can access Experts, navigate the chat interface, and manage your conversation history within the EveryAnswer platform.

Accessing Experts

When using Experts privately (not embedded), you access Experts by logging into the EveryAnswer platform. You have two methods to start chatting with Experts:

  1. In the left navigation bar, select the Expert you want to chat with.
  2. From the home screen, click on the Expert you want to chat with.

Interface

The chat interface consists of two main sections:

  • Chat UI (left 3/4 of the screen)
  • Conversation History (right 1/4 of the screen)

Chat UI

The Chat UI is the main area where you interact with the Experts. It features:

  • Top Header (left to right)
    • New Conversation button
    • Topic
    • Date/time conversation started
    • Pin and Delete buttons on the right side
  • Chat Area (scrolls vertically, top to bottom)
    • Expert Picture
    • An introduction (e.g., "Hello, I'm {expert name}")
    • The Expert's job title
    • The Expert's description
    • The Expert's greeting (e.g., "How can I help you?")
    • The Expert's conversation starter questions (as buttons)
    • Chat messages
      • User message bubbles (from the right side)
      • Expert message bubbles (from the left side)
      • Expert message bubbles include action buttons:
        • Thumbs Up icon - Rate answer as good
        • Thumbs Down icon - Rate answer as bad
        • Clipboard icon - Copies the content of the message to the clipboard
  • Message Input Box
    • Text area supporting up to 1000 characters
    • Placeholder text: "Your question..."
    • Paper airplane icon to send the message
    • Enter/Return also sends the message

Conversation History

The Conversation History section helps you manage your interactions with the Experts you have access to. Here is how you can use it:

  • Start a conversation with the Experts you have access to.
  • See your past conversations, listed from newest to oldest.
    • You can pin conversations to the top of the conversation history list for easy access. Pinned conversations appear above the chronologically ordered conversations.
    • Order of Conversation History:
      • Pinned conversations (if any)
      • Latest conversation
      • All other conversations (newest to oldest)
    • There is a search box to filter conversations by text and a date range filter.
    • Users can delete conversations (note: this deletes the conversation messages but retains a record of the conversation, which counts towards the conversation limit for the subscription).
  • Each conversation in the conversation history shows:
    • A topic (generated by AI)
    • The first question asked by the user (e.g., "You: How does EveryAnswer work?")
    • How long ago the conversation happened
    • Pin and delete buttons for each conversation in the list
  • Clicking on any conversation will load that conversation into the Chat UI on the left, where the full conversation history can be seen, and you can resume the conversation.

How can I rate the answers provided by the Experts?
You can rate the answers provided by the Experts using the Thumbs Up icon to rate an answer as good or the Thumbs Down icon to rate an answer as bad, both found in the Expert's message bubbles.
Can I copy the content of an Expert's message?
Yes, you can copy the content of an Expert's message by clicking the Clipboard icon located in the Expert's message bubble.
Is there a limit to the length of messages I can send?
Yes, the text area in the Message Input Box supports up to 1000 characters for each message you send.
Can I filter my conversation history to find specific chats?
Yes, you can filter your conversation history using the search box to filter by text or by setting a date range filter.
