Adding Documents as a Data Source

Accessing the Feature

  1. In the left navigation, under Settings click Experts.
  2. From the list of Experts, click the pencil icon on the Expert you'd like to add data to.
  3. Click on the Data tab.
  4. Click on the Files sub-tab.

Uploading Files

  1. You'll see a dropzone with the following options:
    • Drop files here
    • Browse files (to select from your computer)
    • Import from (icons for different cloud storage platforms like Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, and Box)

Upload Limitations

  • You can upload multiple files in various formats.
  • Archive files (ZIP, RAR, etc.) are not currently supported.
  • Maximum file size: 100MB per file.
  • Total batch size limit: 1GB.
  • Maximum number of files per batch: 50.
  • If you need to upload larger files, please split them into smaller parts.

Important Notes

  • The upload system supports resume functionality in case of connection loss.
  • For large documents exceeding 100MB, consider splitting them into smaller parts before upload.
  • Once uploaded, your EveryAnswer Expert begins training on the new data.
  • Ensure your files are in a supported format before uploading.

Data Security and Privacy

  • Files are encrypted during transmission to EveryAnswer.
  • Files stored on EveryAnswer systems (as citations) are encrypted at rest.
  • You can choose whether to retain a copy of the files for citations or have them deleted immediately after processing.
  • This retention preference can be set at both the Expert level and enterprise-wide.

Plan Limitations and Considerations

  • While there's no limit to the number of files you can upload, each EveryAnswer plan has a character limit.
  • If you exceed the limit, you'll be notified by email and can view your usage in your account dashboard.
  • If you exceed the limit, you have three options:
    • Pay for the extra amount used
    • Upgrade your plan
    • Reduce your usage to fit within your current plan's limits
